Letters of LA

A recent trip to Disneyland turned out to be just as fun for me as it did for my 6 year old.  Disney does such a great job at making you feel like you’ve been transported to a different world.  I never noticed it before, but the signage and lettering throughout the park is so critical in the transformation to a magical land.

Thanks to my darling friend Erin and her need to research the park for an upcoming movie project she’s got in the works, we were able to go to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to explore everything both parks have to offer.  Both parks were an absolute feast for the eyes.

Knowing I wanted to do a little “homework” to investigate the typography of Disneyland, I couldn’t go 10 feet without wanting to get my big ol’ mom camera out.  I knew my little princess would find our trip to be a delight, but it was inspirational for me too.  The wording, lettering styles and multitude of colors was invigorating.  I can’t wait put my ideas in to new products.
